We welcome you to the Philomath Community Foundation Web Site. This foundation supports community development by funding organizations that desire to assist others by providing a more livable and richer lifestyle for all Philomath residents.

Mission

"The Philomath Community Foundation is committed to serving, enriching and enhancing the community and its citizens."

Purpose

The Foundation is a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization, created with purpose and dedication to strengthen, support and enhance the Philomath community and its environs.

The Foundation provides citizens and organizations with a quality of life-style through acquiring financial gifts, grants and donations and estate endowments benefiting our aggregate Philomath community. These funds are used by community groups, neighborhoods, city and civic club sponsored activities that fortify, support and improve our community and encourage citizen participation in performing these activities.

The Philomath Community Foundation is presently a small foundation but we are growing and we intend to continue growing to help the interests of the Philomath area. We all know that Philomath is a unique community with a rich history of sharing and giving back to our community.

In 2009 we continued to grow the Foundation.  Our focus was on meeting special needs in the community that were related to the overall national economic downturn.  Our board was very pleased to receive support from many individuals and organizations in the form of encouraging comments about the work of the Foundation.  And we were especially pleased by the continued giving by members of the community.

Fortunately, as we enter 2010 we see improvements in our economy which will add to our capacity to fund grant requests.  Our goal is to provide support in the following areas:

Arts & Economic Development                                 10%

Assistance to the Elderly                                            10%

Community Service                                                     20%

Youth and Family                                                         60%

In addition to these states areas in giving, we also manage special gift designations.

In 2010 we will continue to develop special gifts, endowments and scholarships from individuals and families who wish to establish a lasting legacy in support of their particular area of interest.  Please contact me or any member of the board of directors to learn more about the work of the Philomath Community Foundation
